mikayla graduated high school in 2018, then took up a full time job to pay for her university tuition. she attended the university of toronto where she studied art & animation. she met her best friend there, who was a business major named emma lafleur, also known as emma jade.emma & mikayla bonded over wrestling & their other mutual interests. in 2019, emma convinced mikayla that they should train to become pro wrestlers, and form a tag team together. they began training at  superkick'd studios  in toronto, and would make their debuts after a couple months in a tag team match. their team name was  bestfriends44ever. they worked as both tag team & singles wrestlers on the canadian indies for a couple years, before mikayla would get a big opportunity in japan to wrestle for  innovation pro wrestling.  she lost her first couple matches, before she got her first win over a wrestler she loved & idolized, mayu iwatani. mikayla challenged for the  high speed championship  after, but she did not win. she also entered the  queen's league , but she only scored 2 points.emma jade made her way to japan, where her & mikayla teamed up again. they both pinned the  high speed champion  in a tag team match, which got them into a fatal 4 way match for the title at  ultimate destiny 2 , but she did not win the title in her 2nd challenge.on january 9th, emma jade passed away after a long battle with pancreatic cancer. mikayla took a short break from wrestling & returned home to toronto, but she promised to carry on for emma. she made a return to wrestling at  njpw windy city riot , where she challenged & lost to stephanie vaquer for the  njpw strong womens championship.  she wrestled toni storm on aew collision the next night, which got her alot of noteriety.mikayla returned to japan & signed with  world wonder ring stardom . she made her edbut at  all star grand queendom  in a 4 way for the  high speed championship,  which she did not win. she got invited to join stars by  mayu iwatani , since they had history from innovation. they both teamed up with hanan to challenge for the  artists of stardom championships  at  golden fight week in fukuoka , but they did not win.after another losing challenge for the  high speed championship  at  flashing champions  against saya kamitani, mikayla began teaming up with hanan, where they challenged fwc for the  goddesses of stardom championships , which they also lost. mikayla competed in her first singles tournament in stardom when she entered the  5 star grand prix  that year, and did very good when she placed 2nd in her block, then got beat by maika in the quarter finals.she teamed up with hanan again, where they entered the  goddesses of stardom tag league . they got 3rd place in their block to advance, then made it to the finals, where they won the tournament & earned a shot at the  goddesses of stardom championships.  they won the titles at  dream queendom 2024  when they beat h.a.t.e., which got miki her 1st title win in stardom.mikayla challenged mercedes moné for the  njpw strong womens championship,  which became a triple threat match with mina shirakawa at  njpw resurgence 2025 . mikayla pinned mina to win her first singles title in her career.she wrestled the next wednesday on aew dynamite in a fatal 4 way eliminator match for the  aew women's world championship , but she did not win the match. she was offered a contract by aew after the match, which would let her continue competing in stardom too.
